Bitcoin HyperHYPER$ token launch announced for 26 November

The Bitcoin Hyper team announced on X that the HYPER$ token is scheduled to launch on Thursday 26 November 2026. The 15 October update on the official website gives the same date for the token launch and the end of the presale.

The token launch and the mainnet launch are separate events. This announcement does not give a precise launch date for the mainnet. Q2 2027 in the roadmap remains a planned target that needs to be reconciled with the team’s updates; it is not a guaranteed date. Announced dates are not evidence of milestones already achieved.

§02 From the book — Parts I and II

What exactly is
Bitcoin Hyper?

According to the project documentation, Bitcoin Hyper presents itself as a Layer 2 rollup anchored to Bitcoin and built on the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM). The extent to which this design can inherit Bitcoin's security properties remains to be verified against the technical documentation, independent security audits and testing.

The architecture comprises three distinct layers:

1

Bitcoin (Layer 1) — settlement layer

Each batch of transactions is anchored to Bitcoin via OP_RETURN or Taproot. This anchoring seeks to harness Bitcoin's immutability, but does not in itself guarantee the validity of the Layer 2 state.

2

Hyper Rollup (Layer 2) — SVM execution

The heart of the system. The sequencer collects transactions, executes them in the SVM/Sealevel environment with native parallelism, and periodically publishes the state root to Bitcoin.

3

Applications (Layer 3) — DeFi and beyond

According to the project, the environment is intended to support DeFi applications, NFTs, DEXs, lending, gaming, oracles and SPL tokens. Its actual compatibility with the Solana toolchain remains to be verified through testing and technical documentation.

SVM — Solana Virtual Machine

Sealevel is designed to execute mutually non-conflicting transactions in parallel. According to the project, Solana's Rust/Anchor programs can be ported to Hyper with minor adjustments; this compatibility remains to be verified.

Sequencer — present and future

At launch: centralised (censorship risk, single point of failure). Roadmap: decentralisation through rotation and auctions. One to watch.

Canonical bridge BTC↔Hyper

In testing on the devnet. The forced exit mechanism (guaranteed withdrawal) is not yet finalised. A pre-mainnet priority.

Data availability — an open question

A definitive solution is still under research (March 2026). Options: an external DA layer (Celestia), sharding, erasure coding. A material technical risk.

RPC Testnet

The public testnet RPC and explorer are available. The RPC observatory and the explorer provide distinct ways to consult the test network. Wallet, faucet, bridge and the staking dashboard remain subsequent planned releases.

What is a rollup, and why did Bitcoin need one?

Bitcoin prioritises security and decentralisation, but the processing capacity of its base layer is limited. Rollups seek to increase that capacity by executing operations off-chain and using the base layer for settlement and anchoring.

A single sequencer at launch: risk or pragmatism?

Many major rollups — Arbitrum, Optimism and Base among them — began with a centralised sequencer. What risks does that model carry, and what does credible decentralisation actually require?

This first volume — the volume devoted to understanding the system — reconstructs the project's architecture one question at a time, following a method set out at the start and held to the final page.

The team's claims are treated as statements to be verified, facts as facts, and the distance between the two as the object of the inquiry. Twenty-four chapters, each built around concrete analogies, questions and answers, and a concise summary at its close. Judgement — tokenomics, risks and comparison with other Layer 2 solutions — is reserved for Volume II. The work is published exclusively in English.
